Section for Film?

I think it would be very handy to have a section for enthusiests to discuss classic areas of interest. Especially a section for film projectors, film restoration and creating new masters from film. Every classic reel of Film is a potential HD transfer waiting to happen.

Hi...

Sorry, but that really does not fit the forward thinking of the site I am sorry to say. It really does not have a fit here.

I do understand why you wouldn't want a section for hardware, but an area for transfers and creating new masters could have potential? Just because a movie was made in 1930 doesn't mean that people don't want a true 1080p High Definition transfer on Blu-Ray or HD DVD. I understand why you wouldn't want to include older technology that has no purpose for the future, but unlike VHS, Laserdisc, and DVD, film itself is very future proof. I'm not arguing with you, I guess this is more industry insider's topic anyway and probably wouldn't help you much if you're just a consumer that buys movies instead of working with technology and actually releasing them.

I do see your point, but again we are not here really to talk about getting films to DVD/HD HDH/Blu-ray or the process. People to chat about it, but not to the extent it would require a dedicated section on film transfer.
