I know in the description for this section it says Please post software info and questions in the software area but I couldnt find a software area so here I am

I make DVD's with NERO Vision because for some reason it is the only program that will read almost every format I have but it is the only program I have that will keep the AC3 5.1 sound. But there is a problem I cant pause the movie or the sound will go away I cant FF faster than 4x or the sound will go away and I cant change scenes or the sound will go away

what software can I ust to encode DVD's and keep the AC3 5.1 sound

I already have

Nero Vision
Roxio 9
Adobe Premiere Pro
Adobe Encore DVD

Really need you to shed more light on just exactly what you are trying to accomplish with your dvd recording software before recommendations can be made.

For example, are you just duplicating pre-recorded DVD's with 5.1 sound for backup or creating your DVD's from your own video source material? The answer to this question will take you down two different paths of software.

When you say the sound disappears, are you talking about a software dvd player or a hardware dvd player? Does the sound go away for the remainder of playback (and return when you reload the disk) or does it disappear forever (which would be strange)? (Also, just to be clear, if you are talking about the sound just disappearing during pause or ffw then that would be normal, of course).

mainly I have 720p and 1080i/p .mkv .avi .mpg .ts .wvc1 ect mainly HD but sometimes not I just want to reencode them to play on a dvd player

fo example I own the Battlestar Galactica Mini Series on DVD and for some reason it is only in DD 2.0 so I found a rip that is in AC3 5.1 and when I make it into a DVD with anything other than NERO Vision I lose the 5.1 it downmixes to 2.0 or 2.1

but all the programs I try dont work so well

any help
