Question about using the Mitsubishi Projector Throw Distance Calculator

It would be nice if they added even simplified instructions for this tool: http://www.mitsubishi-presentations....tor_tools.html

Trying to figure out if the HD1000 will work in my room (which it should), but I'm confused as to why the Mits tool shows two diff projector positions.

I'm looking at a 106" 16:9 screen (52"Hx93"W); my ceilings are 7'8" (and 6' 8" from where the screen will be mounted -- you can see via the link in my sig, it's kindof a tray ceiling).

The projectorcentral.com calculator doesn't take ceiling height into account, and gives me a throw of 15.4'.

Using a ceiling height of 92" and 2.5" for the RPA mount I'll be using, the Mitsu calculator gives me two locations, 12.7' and 15.4' Does that mean I could use either? Would the screen position change if I take the farther back position? You can't seem to "select" which mount position you'd like in the tool

If I'm following you correctly, the two distances are the minimum and maximum distance the projector can be from the screen to get a 106" screen. Anything between will work. Also, the projector has less offset at the closest distance which may be of interest with your slightly lower than normal ceiling.

The PJC projection calculator is easier to use, since it allows you to adjust all of the parameters (http://www.projectorcentral.com/Mits...ulator-pro.htm). However, it doesn't include the offset (which appears to be a fixed percentage of the screen height (that number should be in the manual). The reviews claim 34.5% (center of the lens = 0.345 x screen height, above top of the screen for ceiling mounts - or below the screen bottom for shelf mount).

Since the offset is meansured from lens center to the top (or bottom) edge of the screen, it looks like the position of the HD1000 from the screen does not effect the vertical position of the PJ to screen.
