Does any one have codes or hints for setting up a Universal Remote MX900 to control the Motorola 6416 DVR that Verizon supplies as part of their Fios service?

Thanks,

Did a quick search on RemoteCentral and the consensus is you will have to learn all the codes into the remote. I have the most up to date IR data base from URC and your device is not listed in any category.

Todd,

Thanks for the read and the info. Could you look for the Optoma HD81 projector? I have been unuable to find it either.

Thanks again.

HD-81 isn't in the database either.

Just use th eoriginal remotes to teach the URC the codes.

Check the settings in the Verizon to see if you can do a work around for the power button. What you're looking for is any other way to turn the box on besides the power button. If you can do that then you can make a work around.

Same for the projector.

OPTOMA 4 code set#360 may be your best bet for the projector. There are no discrete ON/OFF codes for it though.

I used the files for the 6412 for my 6416 III (MX700)
They work fine.

While looking for the correct settings I experimented with some of the ones in the list. I found that the Motorola 12 seemed to have the closest match. Trying the power IR command worked. So did menu and guide. Well that is where things got strange. I could not get the remote to trigger the 6416. And when I went back and tried the IR command from the MX editor it would not work! Only after quitting the editor and restarting would it again activate the 6416.

Any ideas?

Oh by the way, I did go through the batch setup and had the 900 learn the buttons only to have that not work also! I am a bit frustrated with the editor and the lack of codes and programming tips. The manual is very hard to understand. All of the references to the 950 (I have a 900) confuses the actual method of setting it up.

Is there real motive here to force us to pay a tech? I did so when the initial install was done but I figured that the addition of a new DVR, especially a Motorola swap out, would be a snap. erg!
