I'm hoping someone can help me out with my problem here. First, this is my second tv of this model, when I bought it in Jan of 2008 I bought the 5-year warranty with it. The first tv had a problem that made it look like a burn-in, but that's unimportant.
Ever since I got the second tv I've had this problem with Blu Ray Discs where the picture looks grainy, like a snow effect over the picture and when it doesn't have that at times it looks fuzzy, mainly in dark scenes. It does happen at times during bright scenes as well. It has happened while gaming, not often, and I think it has happened with HD cable, but its very rare. I watch Blu-Rays through my PS3. Thinking that perhaps it was because I am using a cheap HDMI cable I bought an $80 monster cable and noticed absolutely no difference so I took that cable back. Then, I tried my PS3 with a Blu Ray on a friends TV, the problem was gone completely and the tv looked great. The tv is better than mine so it shouldv'e looked better, but I saw the problem wasn't there so it shouldn't be my PS3.
Recently, I called the customer support of ABC Warehouse and began working with a contracted repair company to repair the tv and it has so far been unsatisfactory. The repairman came over saw the problem and wanted to try it with his own Blu Ray player. He came back a week later with another Blu Ray player and according to him and my fiancee (I wasn't able to be home) it looked better so he left. Frustrated, I again tried my PS3 on another TV. My mother has a 720p/1080i Plasma so I tried my PS3 on that with some scenes I know are bad on mine and they looked great, like how a Blu Ray should look. My tv has NEVER looked liked this. How can I prove this is my tv? Has anyone heard of any problems like this? Could this be a problem between my TV looking for a type of signal and not necessarily liking the signal from the PS3?
