I don't play video games and use TV mainly for cable TV and DVDs. I don't particulary like the sound of the LX70 either, but when I watch DVDs I have audio hooked up to my external speakers.
Are there very significant differences between the LX70 and LX700?? Is it worth swapping out the LX70 for the LX700?
The enhanced sound processing/system of the LX700 won't be of value to you if using an external sound system. A prior poster finds the LX70 suitable as a gaming display; therefore, it should work just fine for you for movies. The120Hz feature is more than likely simply a marketing gimick.
I Plan to purchase the 26"LX700 to use as a second computer monitor for gaming and movies. I like to get within 2-3 feet of the display; therefore, the 26" screen size works better for me. I'm going with the LX700 for the slightly better response time, and the swival base. Also, in as much as I will be moving it to other rooms from time to time, the improved internal sound system will be of value to me.
Bottom line is that you have to decide if the LX700 will be any better for your purposes; but, my guess is that you're not likely to notice any difference. The earlier posts in this thread discuss the differences between the two models.
