I know there's another thread about this release, but I thought my qustion is better would be better asked in the form of a new thread .

My question is: what about future presses of older releases like Superman Returns, Training Day and the recent Happy Feet? Would Warner be willing to reissue these releases with lossless tracks (and VC-1 in the case of Training Day)?

Discuss .

According to dvdtimes d-o-t co d-o-t uk
Bluray version should have PCM 5.1 not TrueHD.

Warner Home Video have announced the US Blu-ray Disc and HD DVD release of Letters From Iwo Jima for 22nd May 2007. Clint Eastwood's second film about Iwo Jima chronicles the Japanese defence of the island.

Arriving day-and-date the HD DVD Combo release will sell at $39.99 SRP, while the Blu-ray Disc release will sell at $34.99 SRP.

The HD DVD release uses a 30GB/9GB HD DVD Combo disc with the film presented on the HD DVD side in 1080P 2.40:1 Widescreen with Japanese Dolby Digital Plus and Dolby True HD 5.1 audio. English, French and Spanish subtitles are also included. The DVD side features the film presented in 2.40:1 Anamorphic Widescreen with Japanese DD5.1 Surround audio and English, French and Spanish subtitles.

The Blu-ray Disc release uses a 50GB Dual-Layer disc with the film presented in 1080P 2.40:1 Widescreen with Japanese DD5.1 and Uncompressed PCM 5.1 audio. English, French and Spanish subtitles are also included.

Great news!

I'd rather hear PCM than DTHD with dial norm.
