Universal Remote Control Questions

I'm in the ending stages of finishing my dedicated HT. One of the things that I haven't nailed down yet is a good universal remote. Keep in mind that I'm on a budget, so I was considering the Home Theater Master SL-9000 learning remote. It looked like it would satisfy my needs, except for one issue. My entire a/v rack is behind the seating area about 3 feet. Will I need an RF remote. Does anyone else have similar issues? If so, what type of solutions have you come up with?

Hi...

I used the SL-9000 for a long time before I installed the Niles Intelcontrol. The SL-9000 is the best remote I have ever used to date. In fact, I use it in 3 others rooms in my home.

I got arround the IR use by using Xantech products. One IR Transeiver up by the screen and the IR emitters on equipment. Also requires a distrubution block.
