Usually a firmware update for a DVD player or a recorder is done by burning the update file to a CD-R, which the machine reads and performs the update, so a USB or a phone input is not really necessary. The thing though, is that there is no update on the Samsung website.
As I was returning the Samsung today, I got to thinking in a more general, yet obvious to me direction....
When exactly, did Samsung decide that it is now a reputable company, that deserves the same respect and place as the likes of Panasonic, Toshiba, and Philips? And more importantly, when did it decide that it can ask for premium prices like Sony?
Beyond a relatively good design, to this day I've yet to find a Samsung product of any kind that didn't turn out to be a complete and undeniable piece of garbage.
Just when I thought I had found one - a cute little phone - the screen on it cracked three days after I got it.
Buying Samsung products to me always ends up the same way as after I eat at an IHOP or a Waffle House. I always find myself asking: "what was I thinking!"
