Combining into standard dvd?

I plan on bringing 50 mini dvd+rw's with my on my trip in 2 months and wondered what would be the simpliest way for me when I get back to combine all or partial into a couple standard dvds? Im not familier with using any software so something that is simple and straight forward would be the best.

absolute simplest thing to use: DVD Shrink 3.2

Save each "title" as a separate "titles" and recombine them (also using Shrink) so it fills up an entire 4.7 Gb DVD-R.

You won't be able to fit all of 50 DVD-R onto 2 DVD-R (even if you use dual layer blanks)

What about quality? Is there any major loss using shrink versus another program that may do a betetr job even if it means a learning curve and some reading to figure it out?

Shrink is one of the best (and free) program out there. Besides, don't shrink the video quality, just use it to extract and recombine the separate "title" files. Also make sure you set your DVD camcorder to XP mode for the best quality.

PS: there is no loss if you just extract and recombine.

PPS: another freeware program you can use to extract (but not combine) is DVDFab Decrypter. This is an even better extractor (especially for out-of-spec filing system which the DVD camcorder may have).

Thanks for the info guys... Im planning on doing as suggested in a previous thread to record in HD in hopes that AVCHD software support is available sometime in the not too distant future. My Sony UX7 does have software that can convert whihc I just tested a few minutes ago, though its limited to only converting the AVCHD to MPEG2... would have been nice for some MPEG4... but ah well, beggers cant be choosers I guess lol. Anyway I guess the next question is... will Shrink still be my option to take all the MPEG2 files, combine them and then pump out to standard dvd?
