However, my ignorance and closed mind was rewarded while traveling when I picked up an issue a few years ago at the airport on a whim. Since then I've been an avid reader and subscriber. There are some well written and informative articles of social value that pervade the magazine and most are not just quick reads by any means.
Glad you took the time to read the Soprano's article. Back to Tony!
I picked it up for the first time at the airport (I was out of town, so I didn't catch the premier in HD!
). Still, I was surprised how good that magazine is. Some of the ads actually look great and a few of the articles are very interesting. The Annie Liebovitz photos were great as was the article, though it started sounding like the guy was working for HBO or something. Also read the article on Brazil and its social crises - very interesting, sobering and well written!
Anyways, back to the show ... it was a great opener. One could criticize it as being a bit slow, but I loved it. The dialogue, the acting, the directing/editing are all TV at its best. Also liked the nice audio touch with the bullet still bouncing around in the dryer. Can't wait till next week!
