Depends on your equipment, like all the other switchers it doesn't work with everything. What equipment do you have?

Hello,

I am using the psyclone without any issues. It does what it says by giving you hdmi and optical inputs.

Anyone know where to buy one of these from. BB had them, but I can't seem to find it on their webpage anymore.

I need to run an optical audio output to my receiver, since it doesn't have HDMI inputs (hence my need for the psyclone). My question is, do I also need to run the optical audio inputs from my devices, or will it send out the audio signal from the HDMI inputs?

I got mine on ebay, pretty good deal too.

Edit: Answering my own question, the audio from the HDMI input does not get carried through to the optical audio output. I had to run the audio separately either directly from the component to my A/V Receiver or through the Psyclone using the optical audio inputs.

this selector seems to work fine for what i have hooked up to it. a sony playstation 3, a xbox 360 and my cable box are all hooked up with the hdmi and optical cables. so far, no issues...

I decided to go for this unit because I needed both the HDMI and the optical digital switching (my receiver is an NAD model, with only two optical digital inputs). No problems so far with the following equipment:

TV: Samsung LN-S4095D

Sources:
1) Tivo Series 3
2) Sony PS3
3) RCA HD-5000 HD-DVD player
4) PC w/ Gigabyte GV-NX85T256H GeForce 8500

It also works well with my Harmony 880 remote.

I seem to be having a problem with my TiVo Series3 with the Psyclone HDMI Selector. It *may* be weak signal, as I'm NOT having the same intermittent snow and color shift problems with my XBox 360. This all routes through my Sony A/V receiver, so I suppose that could be the problem, but I don't think so.

Not from the HDMI. But from optical in it goes to optical out.
