I just bought this Gershwin disc "An American In Paris", SACD multi-channel (Mobil Fidelity). Very beautiful music! However, can't seem to get the multi-channel tracks to play? I hope it's not "corrupted"? Or screwed-up during fabrication?

Is this the RCA living stereo edition? If so, I belive that this is a 3 channel recording, front, left, center, right.

This is not the Living Stereo release, but the Mofi release.

This should play in multichannel without a problem. Are you sure your SACD player is set up for multichannel and not stereo? On my Denon 2900, it will show you on the front of the player what channels are being played.

Don't expect an aggressive surround experience in any event. I have the Mofi Holst Planets SACD, and it is a mild multichannel experience like most classical.

Obviously, it's possible you have a defective pressing.

This is a Mobile Fidelity Original Master Recording, "Surround Series", hybrid disc. I have a (new) Denon DVD-3930CI player, it displays the channel configurations while playing. It just does'nt seem to want to process full multi-channel mode. It could be defective (I hope not).

How is it connected to your AVR or pre/pro? 6 analog audio cables?

I'm using (5.1) analog multi-channel inputs.

Actually, I just enabled the tray open/close function, tray opens, and I remove disc. Then placed disc back into position on the tray (for the 5th time now), enabled open/close function, tray closes. Player reads disc, now I'm (finally) able to see all speaker symbols on player display. Disc now plays full (5.1) multi-channel surround, sounds beautiful!

Thanks
