I'd really like to combine the two patches.
I would also love to get the vertical-squeeze-fix firmware patched so that I can upconvert via component. I've been having a tough time finding a DVD player that produces good picture quality on my older Hitachi 51swx20b tv, and the Oppo upconverted via component is definitely the best picture quality I've seen ... there's just that annoying problem of the vertical squeeze.
I currently have the Oppo connected to my tv's DVI connection via an HDMI-DVI cable, but, at 1080i, there's an annoying flickering that happens (the flickering doesn't happen via component at 1080i). Anyway, thanks for any help anyone can offer!
