Hello,

I just wanted to ask you people, Which sub would be best for my setup?
This setup is for 70% music / 30% movies.
I mainly play a lot of hiphop music & other genres.
My rig (whiconsists of:
-EMU 0404 usb soundcard
-Onkyo TX-SR504 7.1 Channel A/V Receiver
-AV123 X-LS bookshelves speakers

My budget would be around 200$ but I'm willing to go up to 300$.
Although the SVS cylinder subs look very nice, and I'm willing to pay 500$ for that.
But is it worth it?

Thank you!

Yes, it's worth it, IMHO.

That step up from $200-300 to $500 gets you a lot.

It's difficult to get a quality sub that plays low with any authority for $200. Granted for mostly music, you don't need something that goes super low, but you still want something with some oomph.

Subs from HSU and SVS are very popular around here and offer decent bang for the buck.

Because of this, I would say the SVS would definitely be worth it. As long as you're okay with the cylinder look, go for it! Spending the same amount over at Hsu Research will get you similar results.

The lowest model they offer is a 25-31PCi Subwoofer 549$.
Will that suffice my needs?

Post room size; pic added preferred. Look at b-stock. Look at close outs. Email both and decide after you get recommendations.

Above all. STFF

My friend.........you get what you pay for.

It is the same in the subwoofer world as it is with everything else you buy...

Get the most you can afford... Getting a $500 SVS cylinder will be worth it as you get what you pay for. As far as whether or not it will be enough will depend upon your listening habits and room size.
