$500 budget PC

What do you guys think of this system? The guy I'm building it for is on a strict $500 budget for components. He doesn't game much but he does want something that can play the occasional game. I would like to hold out for the 8600GT but it all depends on price and availability.

X2 3600+ - $65
ASRock AM2NF6G-VSTA - $68
OR
Gigabyte GA-M61PM-S2 - $69
1Gb DDR2-800 Geil - $75
Seagate 250Gb - $68
Samsung DVDRW - $29
Antec 400W - $58

Total: $363

I can either go with 2Gb RAM + something like a 7600GS or stick with 1Gb RAM + X1950 GT -not sure yet. Would appreciate any comments on the motherboard choice. This will be hooked up with a 20.1" BenQ. Again, he's not that into games. Any comments between the ASRock and Gigabyte mobo?

If he only games occasionally, the 2GB RAM plus a cheaper video card would probably be better.

Gonna wait for an 8600GTS and try and squeeze for an Asus mobo -I'll post back with the new spec when I build it
