Corrupt data on external SATA drive

Thread Starter
I have an external HD connected to to an SA 8300 DVR cable box. I can't open any shows recorded on the external HD, but they show up on the recorded list. When I tried to reboot, I got a message saying that the data is corrupt, and either reformat, or not be able to use that drive. Can I recover that data?

I have the exact same problem. I think I first got a message that the cables weren't connected properly, now after booting, data is corrupt, reformat or don't use.

I have connected the drive itself via the USB 2.0 interface to a PC. "Safely remove hardware" sees the drive, but cannot access it. Is there a driver which would allow access?

Shouldn't this be posted on the "HDTV Recorders" Forum?
