OT Best record/laserdisc protection covers? and how to store

I lost 500 of my best laserdisc/records the other day due to water damage. All were in 6 mil poly sleeves. I don't understand how the water got in as only 1/2" of water touched the bottom of the discs in the plastic sleeves.

Years ago I had some vinyl covers that were really thick with a flap. Also I remember ones with ziplock at top. these are way better than the poly covers.

Anyone know where I can get these?
Since I need alot of them how much do they cost?

I have searched ebay and the web already. There is a seller on ebay that sells lots of 10 but the cost is too high.

How visible and accessible do you want the albums to be? Perhaps a watertight container could be used (Pelican case, etc.) for long term storage?

Yes I thought of that as they are in long term storage now but I do like to look thru them from time to time so I would like to find the type of protection covers I used to have/see back in the day. They were thick plasic with flap and I can't find them anywere anymore.

Dumb question, but the vinyl/laserdiscs aren't destroyed are they? Just the sleeves? (which I know is 50% of the enjoyment/value...)

exactly curt. most if not all of the discs are fine but the cardboard/paper jackets with the cover art are ruined. And I'd say it is closer to 95% of enjoyment at least for me.

I just discarded my LD collection. Wish you had posted sooner. I would have happily shipped you some of the jackets on the titles we both owned.
