DCT6416 Download

I recently moved, took my box with me, and waited 3 weeks before Time Warner could actually send someone to my house. After all kinds of trouble, they came yesterday and reactivated by DCT6416. Afterwards, I was unable to access VOD and it would just give an error message so I'm screwed for another 10 days until a tech comes. However, their plan of action to fix it was to have me unplug and then plug back in. Since doing so, all channels on the channel guide say TBA, the time is stuck at 1200 and I can't access the menu meaning I can't view any of my saved DVR programs nor can I record any new ones for the time being. Their idea to fix that was to send a signal which I have no way of verifying that it was ever sent. Anyway, after a day I'm still in the same predicament.

Is there a way to force my box to download the necessary information (channel guide, time, allow me to access the menu) without deleting the contents of the hard drive?

Ok, seriously, nobody has ever had trouble getting their box to update?

I saw the cable guy force a download before he left because it was having that same problem. I'm just not sure what he did but after everything downloaded, the box reset automatically, and the channel guide and menu appeared.
