List of 'average / below average' SACD/DVDA titles?

Ok, so there are a couple threads listing "Top Ten", Best sounding, etc. for SACD and/or DVDA. I've picked up a few titles I wouldn't have otherwise considered and have been quite happy with most of the suggestions on this thread.

I've also heard of titles that could be listed under the 'don't bother buying' thread, and spending the extra $ on the SACD/DVDA was a waste of money.

So the question is:

What regular CDs have you listened to that sound the same, or better than, the 'hi-rez' version?

Not wanting to be controversial but for me any SACD (primarily) or DVD-A release which is 2 channel only is at least below average in my books. Perhaps I am not a manic audiophile but I would never willingly replace a CD with a 2channel SACD version or knowlingly purchase a 2 channel SACD of a title I don't own (I would just purchase the CD and save the money)

Titles that have caught me include Blood Sweat and Tears and Charlotte Church which are SACD stereo only. No wonder why this new technology had difficulty taking off. You have to convince folks to invest in all new gear (DVD player, AVR with multi channel input) just for enhanced quality?

Weird question.

The Silverline live discs suck.

Unlike Ichiu, I don't avoid 2-channel hirez. I've replaced several of my CDs with 2-channel hirez versions. Some sound outstanding to me. In fact, I sometimes listen to some of my multichannel discs in 2-channel stereo with no sub just to hear how great my fronts sound alone with the hirez material.

Can't think of anything that I own on CD that sounds better than the hirez version, multichannel or not.

Boston.

As a fan, I purchased this SACD despite the negative reviews. It was a major disappointment. No better than the cd at all.

Also, Roger Waters' In The Flesh. I expected big things because the DVD is so good, and DSOTM is reference. But this one also disappointed.

Thanks for the feedback. The Boston album was on my list, and I was going to spend extra to get the SACD. So you just saved me a few bucks I can put towards something else.

Unfortunately, ALL Rolling Stones SACD titles are either mono or 2 channel only. Many of them are just a waste of money. IMHO, the only one worth buying is The Rolling Stones Hot Rocks 1964-1971 remastered SACD, which cost $29.99 at my local CC. Surprisingly, my local Walmart also has the same CD but sold for $33.99. I know, I only went to Walmart to get cheap generic medicine for $4 per prescription.

Credence Clearwater Revival - The Concert SACD is just pure POS. While I'm at it may I also add Marvin Gaye Let's Get It On DVD-A? These two are my worst hires CDs. They ain't worth the salt I traded them for.

Diana Krall's "When I look in your eyes" is a below average in surround on SACD. The highs were chopped off, and mix is more suited for the Blue Man Group then for Diana. The 2ch layer is very good indeed.
