32" LCD Tv for a Monitor? 1366x768

Hello,
Next year I will be sharing an apartment on campus and I am in the market for a TV for my room. I would love to use the TV for my monitor. I was wondering if anyone out there has their PC hooked up via VGA or DVI/HDMI and sits within about 3 feet (a big desk) when using their PC. Do you notice the large TV/pixel ratio much? Let me know what you guys think. I can't really afford a 1080P set and not really looking for ~24-26" monitor (they're expensive for the size and don't have a tuner). I really appreciate you input!

Also the 360 would be used on the tv too, if that has any effect on you thoughts...

It will be fine, I used 26", 27" (currently using it to type this) , 32" and 37" LCD TVs for monitors. The 37" even tho its a 1080 unit was just too big, 32" is just about perfect. I currently use a Dell 30" monitor for my gaming rig and it fits my needs.

What are you using? desktop/laptop with or without a dedicated video card?

I will be using my desktop w/ a 640MB 8800GTS so the resolution + gaming is not a problem I was just wondering whether things like internet browsing and office docs become to pixelated at 32" and 1366x768 from about 3 feet. Another thought though: would it be better to go with a DVI to HDMI In on the TV or use a VGA in on the TV? I'm assuming HDMI but I have heard all sorts of problems w/ compatibility.

Text is legible for desktop use.I'm typing this on a 32"LCD/TV at 1366x768.As for gaming, it has it's drawbacks.Visiting the widescreengaming forum can be a hassle at times.

I have just purchased a Sony Bravia 26" and faced a few issues with the DVI-HDMi converter. My video card nVidia 7900GT wouldn't output at 1366X768 so everything seemed blur and pixelated. So i went back to using VGA and outputted at 1360X768 and it's perfect now.
And even sitting close to the screen, there is absolutely no issue with pixelation.
