Can you play games on LCD?

I really like the look of the lcd, but I am really scared by the response rates. Samsung seems super high at 8ms and even sharp's new models appear to lag. How serious is this of an issue for xbox 360 games?

Thx

I got the impression from reading these forums that only some models have issues with lag. (BTW, anything less than 10ms is supposedly imperceptible so I'd think if their stats were truthful it'd be cool...) I'm curious to hear more about this issue myself tho.

I'd love to see a list of screens with known lag issues (since I get the impression it'd be shorter than the opposite list). Anyone wanna contribute?

I hope so I know that for computer games a refresh rate of 6ms or less was considered good so I was surprised when people started saying 4ms on LCD TV was bad.

People's standards of "good" are always changing. Years ago 20ms was considered good enough for PC gaming.

I use a 16ms LCD monitor for my PC, and I don't see any problems at all. It looks great!

response time NOT an issue. ( in the current LCDs )

The issue is that there are sets out there that have a lag time between the video is recieved on the input and when that image is displayed on the LCD.
This is very bad issue.

I think the old samsung lcds had this issue. The response time where great! no gosting, no blur, but the video was delayed enough that when you tried to play some games it was total garbage!

Not enough of a concern to keep you from buying LCD. Just buy from a store with a liberal (even if short term) return policy. Try it and see how it works for you. If it doesn't, return it and try another model or technology.
