David, thank you for the reply. I guess with the added resolution of HD vs SD a better quality less is needed. Does the Canon one allow for full zoom through?

Hi does anyone know if Sony Vegas will inverse telecine the 1080i/60Hz by detecting the tags , to 1080/24p ? Thanks.

Vegas will automatically remove pulldown provided the cam used FLAGS the pulldown.

If by chance you are referring to the HV20, vegas will not remove the pulldown because the HV20 lacks the ability to flag it.

Thanks bigbarney. My mistake about HV20 and flags.

Are you aware of alternative software that will somehow detect the candence for the HV20 and do inverse telecine ? Thanks again.

Cineform HD link will capture and remove the pulldown for import to vegas. Google for it. I believe there is a 15 day free trial
