Color calibration with spectrometer

Thread Starter
So I have those Sound and Vision calibration DVDs and they worked great on my stand alone DVD player but now that I finished building my HTCP I'm wondering if I can do _real_ color calibration with my (quite nice) $1000 GretagMacBeth spectrometer. The software that comes with it is more oriented towards creating color profiles for photography/image editing and not so much for RGB TV color calibration. Is there any software out there that I could use with my spectro. to calibrate my TV?

Thanks,
Sam

I have the same desire. It shouldn't be that hard to do since we already have the hardware. Just need the software to walk us through it.

I've been thinking of doing the same (using a commonly available spectrometer/monitor calibration device to fine tune my video display and projector). The little known search function on this forum (or google) pointed me towards:

I hope this helps.
