So say you are timer recording (viewing) Grey's Anatomy from 8-9 on Channel 13 and intend to also timer record ER from 9-10 on Channel 2 via the timer, at 8:57 the Polaroid is going to automatically switch to Channel 2 and cancel recording on Channel 13.
Most retarded feature ever on a recorder. So much for the last 3 minutes (cliff hangers).
Your example is EXACTLY what I record on my 2001-G every Thursday -- Grey's Anatomy from 9-10 and ER from 10-11. I also record the same 2 shows every Tuesday: House from 9-10 and then Boston Legal from 10-11. I've NEVER had it cut off the last 3 minutes of a show. I've even had it start at odd times: for some bizarre reason, last night's Grey's Anatomy was 61 minutes long and ER was 59 minutes long ... I had it switch channels at exactly 10:01, and it worked perfectly.
Now I have seen that warning dialog box you referred to appearing 3 minutes before a recording is set to begin ... but only when I'm watching another show from the HDD, or a DVD at the same time. In those cases, I have sometimes had the recording get screwed up or stop. So, I've learned to not be viewing anything other than the live feed during those critical 3 minutes. If the recording proceeds unattended, it works without a hitch. It powers up 3 minutes before the first programmed show, and then simply switches channels at the exact moment that one ends and the other begins.
Is this a new issue with DRA-01601A??? I've been reading here that besides the new digital tuner and different inputs, this Polaroid unit it's mostly just a clone of the previous 2001-G. If that's true, then something is fishy about your posting.
