That is interesting....I think it's just a case where they're 'rebadging' the Pioneer ELITE Pro FHD-1 in the States so that regular retailers/e-tailers can sell it.
You can't get the Elite stuff thru mail-order...only brick & mortar stores, and only "special" B&Ms, to boot. That's pretty much why BB had to create Magnolia as a store-within-a-store, too. They protect the Elite line & how it's sold.
So they must be stuck w/tons of the $6K Pro FHD-1s...they undoubtably have new Elites AND new "regular" models on the way, so this is a way to clear out the old Elites.
Again, it's clear that the 5000EX in the two links you provide is the Pro FHD-1 (the date of the articles & the specs prove that).
I wonder what they're gonna sell for? I might bite if it was $4K or less.
UPDATE: I called Invision...they verified that it is indeed the Eurpopean version of the Pro FHD 1...and he agreed with the theory that they're just trying to clear them out. I got the price...but I dare not whisper it here...though it's only a little more than my guess above. The warranty ain't as good as the Elite...but for the price diff between the two, you could probby buy a 15 yr.s extended plan
