well I would check the way you have your dvd player set up. I believe it should be set to bitstream but check you owners manual.

Can you select the DTS version in the DVD's Menu??

Yeah, DTS is an available track for this DVD. Just go into the Audio/Language Setup Menu of the DVD and select DTS.

Diffrent strokes for different folks.... Personally, I like DTS a lot more but you have to try it for yourself and compare. My DVD changer remote allows me to toggle between them so you have some FUN experimenting to do.

You can toggle on ALL players.
Just use the AUDIO button on the remote.

I havn't experience using "all" players and I use a 400 disc changer myself that's why the statement was prefaced as such

Depends on the recording. Some sound better in DTS and others in DD. Just the way it is...

In its original theatrical form, DTS is less compressed than Dolby Digital. DD audio has to fit on the film while DTS is delivered on a companion CD, which can hold more audio data. The formats also use different compression and encoding techniques. In theaters, all others things being equal, DTS is likely to sound better.

On DVD releases, Dolby Digital tracks actually have more room than they do in the theater and DTS tracks are often encoded at lower bit rates to make room for multiple audio tracks.

So, the quality of the audio really does vary, depending on the original motion picture sound track and how the audio is handled in the DVD encoding. I'm a fan of DTS. But, a movie like The Incredibles has a superb DD sound track.
