Question regarding Sony Plasma Panel (no media box)

Hi All

I have a chance to purchase a panel from a KEMR50S2 50" Sony Wega Plasma at auction being sold by Sony themselves. However the panel is being sold as spare parts (hence the extremely cheap price, around $150) because there is no media box. I have contacted Sony spare parts and they do no sell media boxes as spare parts (good luck if you lose one when moving or it gets stolen!).

In the same auction is a media box for a KE50MR1 panel, also a 50", but the blurb says this box is only for the KE50MR1 or KE42MR1, not the KEMR50S2.

My question to anyone who has a technical understanding of these things is: are these two compatible at all (Sony spare parts were non-commital on that one)? The cheap price of the panel has me very keen, but I don't want to end up with a panel that is completely unusable. I don't mind doing some re-wiring if I have to.

Thanks in advance

Paul could you tell me where this place was that was selling the Media Box that could suit the KE42MR1 as I've been looking for that box for 2 years now.

Thanks
Andrew
