Towers VS. Bookshelf..Help

Are their bookshelf front speakers out there that can give just as good response as compared to tower speakers? I'm looking for some smaller front speakers that will be adequate for a normal size gameroom.....any suggestions would be helpful!! I've had Klipsch towers in the past and often thought that they lacked presence.

Generally, floorstanders have better bass response than stand mounts, are you planning on a sub?

What kind of room is it? And what price did you ahve in mind. One of the best small bookshelves are dynaudio's (audience 52, but focus 110/140 is really good) or Totems

If you listened to B&W 602s with your eyes closed, you would never guess that they were bookshelves. They sound like big towers with intense bass.
