Xbox360 gamepad on PC

I've played on Xbox360 twice, and I love its gamepad! Is it possible to use this device on PC?

Yea, the wired version is plug and play. For the wireless version you will need this. You can also use other 360 accessories like the racing wheel with that little gadget.

Yep, Ive used a standard wired 360 pad for about a year now.

Probably the best all around PC controller on the market.

For a while MS was selling them badged as "For use with PC" and jacking up the prices about $6.00 more than the same 360 pad in a different box, not sure if thats still going on but something to keep in mind.

Works great, and as said before it is THE best PC gamepad out there.

You need either the wired controller or a wireless controller with the adapter, if you already have a controller you use with your 360 you can use that. I don't have much experience with the wireless version and a PC, but I use the wired version with my laptop daily. Do NOT buy the PC version of the controller, it is the exact same controller with a useless CD included. Buy the normal 360 wired controller. There is no difference between that and the PC version except that it doesn't include the driver CD. You can get the drivers off of Microsoft's website.

If you have Windows Vista....
1. Plug in the Controller
2. Enjoy

If you have XP....
1. Download the driver here: http://www.microsoft.com/hardware/gaming/download.mspx
2. Install Driver
3. Plug in Controller

It's pretty simple. I use mine with Sega genesis and SNES emulators and it works great.

The XP drivers may not be needed, myself and a few other people I know didnt need them with XP Pro even on Service Pack 1 only machines, plugged in and recognized it just fine with full support in the "Game Controllers" area of the Control Panel.

That's weird, mine (XP Home SP2) didn't work until I installed the drivers.... well if you get this then try it without drivers first, saves you the hassle of going and downloading them.
