I resisted this deal on Sunday, but caved today in light of all the good word of mouth about the audio fixes in the auto-update that released today (and in light of the fact that Planet Earth is now available in hd-dvd).
I picked up Children of Men (fingers crossed that it plays and does not have to be sent out for a replacement disc) and Batman Begins. When the clerk tried to ring up the deal, she scanned Children of Men first and the computer told her it was an ineligible disc because it did not meet the price requirements. I had to explain to her that the flyer said two hd-dvd's up to $59.98 and that the $34.99 CoM and the $24.99 Batman Begins added up to $59.98 total. She had to check with her manager, who authorized her to ring everything up separate so that it would go through.
I also presented her a printed copy of the AAA 10% off a $199+ purchase coupon (that I posted a link to earlier in this thread). She entered the data and it worked. Someone mentioned earlier in the thread that the coupon did not work online. It did work for me in the store, but it also may have worked because she had to enter the three items separately as opposed to the package deal she tried to enter first (the coupon does seem to exclude Xbox items). Anyway, YMMV.
Also, I happened to get the last 360 hd-dvd in the store.
All told, a very good pick up for less than $200 (total purchase price with tax was $196.18), especially considering the fact that the King Kong hd-dvd and remote are gravy in the package. I look forward to putting it through its paces tonight.
