Well after having my 91 for almost 2 weeks, I finally got it up and running this evening. I gotta say, compared to my old Sony reciever, the ease of use of setting it up was phenominal. This is my first Pioneer receiver, so maybe it's a normal thing, but I was impressed with the auto MCACC setup. Sure I'll set it up manually eventually, but I really wanted to test it out before the family went to bed. I got it all set up and plugged in in less then half an hour. I unfortunately didnt get to test it fully, due to my parents going to bed early tonight though
BUT, I did get to test Resistance: Fall of Man using the PCM sound on it really quickly. The difference from that and old optical stereo was HUGE. It was like I was completely there in the game. The sound was just right, it had a nice warm feeling to it, not too warm, not too harsh. From the few minutes I had with it, it was a very smooth experience all around. Easy setup, I'm still getting used to all the new types of advanced features on it, since I'm a total newb to these high end receivers, but overall, to me at least, totally worth it. I'll have more on it later on, hopefully tomorrow, or at the latest by Tuesday.
