What's the best way to controll all of this stuff?

I'm building a new 2 story addition onto my house. It will consist of a big living room, 3 season room, bedroom and bath above.

I'm running at the moment a sagetv DVR setup. There is a server in the basement that has all the tuners connected to it. In the living room and bedroom and HTPC running sage as a client so i can stream recording, dvd music.

Now in the new living room I want to setup a 5.1 surround sound using a nice receiver. But I will be sending the audio from the HTPC to the receiver over optic.

But now i want to be able to control the volume from any room in the house, maybe using RF remote or a controller mounted on the walls, or both. Right now I changed the channels on the HTPC using a Microsoft infrared remote.

What's a good way to incorporate this all together?

Now what will it control. Can I control my receiver volume? Do you have a weblink for it?
