What options are there in the service menu?

The service manual is like the last series and only documents size and now geometry adjustments. I wonder if the same items are there and if there are any additional capabilities for gamma or more sensible color correction. Service menu access codes are the same as they have been. I have not received any sets yet so I have not been able to get into one to check.

Since DLP introduction, Mits service manual hasn't documented any of the ISF adjustments.
The only way I have found is to go through the painstaking process of testing each and every function to try and determine what it does.

Earlier this year I was shopping at a Tweeters for an LCD which I ultimately bought from another dealer(the 46231). However, I also was looking to get a larger screen later this year for my family room and liked the Mits DLP's. The salesman told me to hold off to later in 2007 because he said that Mits was switching to a laser instead of the bulb they now use.

Does the 65733 have the laser??

Yes, most of us know this. The current sets are not documented either. The question is, are the parameters basically the same or have they added some or activated some of the many that were inactive before.

No. As stated above, these sets are lamp based.

I have started a thread at HTS linked below that has what I have accumulated thus far on the new models. I will continue to update it as we learn more and will post the info back here as well. Maybe we can avoid a lot of the confusion about what set has what features and specifications that occurred with the last rollout of new sets.

Mitsubishi applied over two decades of optical experience in the design of its proprietary 6-Color Light Engine. This unique Mitsubishi light engine generates yellow, cyan, and magenta directly rather than by combining red, green, and blue. Do these new sets accept Dolbly Digital 5.1 on the HDMI inputs? If so, do they swich it out to the Digital Audio output?

Wow thanks! I may have to be excused and run take a cold shower... I want to see what the 65734 is going for, so far Amazon and Crutchfield have the 65733 on-line with a price but no mention of 65734 just yet.

The few extras the 734 have are worth some money, but how much... ?

The Diamond ##833 series appears to have the last two features I have been waiting for, namely, HDMI 1.3 and judder-free operation, assuming "Smooth120Hz" means what you would think it would mean.

I stopped by my Mitsubishi dealer today and he said the same thing. The new model year DLPs are coming out as per the press release. However, there will be a 1/2 model year line of Laser DLPs hitting the streets later this year...certainly on the more expen$ive end. I picked up a WD-57831 in February and am extremely happy with it. Personally, I don't see the new "slim-line" DLPs offering a better viewing experience and...well, let's just say we'll see how long it takes Mits to work out the bugs with the new laser technology.

when will the WD-65833 be available?

I know it accepts 24fps but can it actually output it? (Like at 48,72,120)

I know last years models produced inaccurate primary colors the (831 reviewed by cnet and other reviews and heard it was the same on all). Have you or anyone else reviewed these models to see how they perform or have the same problem? Or any new ones?



I am thinking about getting the 734 or waiting for Laser or the 732 cause it's cheaper.

Are there any picture quality improvements across the sets? Mainly the 734/833 series?
