2. yes same base for 733 and 734, no base for 833 4. first week of June

I am puzzeled by why the base is so much bigger than the new Mits. I'm getting lost in all the model numbers, so it the base in the picture last years base, or a new base?

Peace,

DM

Are the video scalers in the new Mits the same as the ones from last year? Concerned about how SD will look on the new mits.

I'm curious why the 833 lists a weight of 92.4 lbs, and the 831 shows a weight of 190.0 lbs. Both brochures show a pic with the base but list it as optional equipment. One of the numbers can't be right.

I cannot comment on the xx833 models (since they havnt released their service manual yet), but I am sure the weight is comparable to xx734 and xx733 models.

I'm going by the preliminary brochure linked to above so I'm guessing the weight number must be wrong on the new model as I can't imagine there would be that much difference in the two models.

Based on those pics I posted directly from the service manual, the 57" weights 67lbs and the 73" weights 107lbs. I am willing to bet the xx833 models are exactly the same.

I would think so too, not really an issue, it just seemed odd there'd be that much difference.

The TV's this year are thinner and lighter for sure. Look at the 73, It lost around 100 pounds.

That's what I've been talking about, what could possibly have weighed 100 lbs that is not in the 73" this year? I suspect that the literature is wrong for the 831.

this year the 73 uses the same light engine as the 57 and 65. last year it was different and used a longer light path wich added to the weight. in addition the base of the 73 is plastic vs stamped metal. The weight savings
is correct this year.

I'm buying a mits for their reliabitity and history. People do buy on brand. It's just like buying a car..do you buy latest and greatest or do you buy reliability based on brand? I know plenty of people who wont touch certain models no matter what greatest feature it provides.

Like I said I plan to keep the TV for 10+ years. Based on what I have seen in a mits, these things keep going beyond 10 years.

Yea, I used to think that way. I had a great Subaru and when that one bit the dust, I bought another one. Big mistake. Turns out that Subaru, in order to capture the US market built really good cars at the outset but the dealers got screwed because the cars needed very little maintenance. So, by the time I bought my second Subaru, it was a piect of $#!^ but the dealers were happy again. Corporations are all about making money. Period. Any "loyalty" perceptions are fantasies. Buyer Beware!!!

1) It looks like they renamed the cabinet color to "Platinum Black" with a "Brushed Black Metallic" accent on the 734. How do these colors compare to the "Dark Silver Satin" on the 731 and "Black Gloss" on the 732?

2) Are the new MB-65PB Matching Bases shipping in with the new televisions or is there a delay? In other words, when the tv's are available to order, will the stands also be available?

3) How tall is the combined 65" television and matching base?

4) How soon should I expect to be able to order a 734 and get it shipped?

The WD-65734 has shipped from Mitsubishi this week so it should be landing in some stores any day now

I'm excited! I got a great phone call today to cheer me up. My new 65734 shipped today!

I'll be sure to post my first impressions when I get the TV which is middle of next week or so (thanks to Steve!). Bear with me I'm not on the same "level" as some of you but i'll be happy to answer questions when I get it

I'm only waiting to buy something in chance that the 833 or XBR5 might have some moderate picture quality updates..

I've heard a few rumors about the XBR5 but nothing of the 833.

Someone has to know something. It isn't that top secret.

The literature shows 480i, 480p, 720p and 1080i only for component inputs.

I just saw the 65733 in my Best Buy's weekly ad insert. You would think that if Mitsubishi is selling the TV it would be on their website.

Does anyone know if they can output at 24fps? I know they can accept it.
