Site Extremely Slow Today, or Is It Just Me?

Slow for also for awhile. Looked like it was having trouble loading the ads on the pages.

We had a main switch issue. It ended up being replaced.

It seems that many mornings around 5AM, Eastern, the site goes off line for a few minutes. It happened again this morning and the outage was say 20 minutes.
What is going on at this hour?

BTW, I can easily get to other sites. Just not AVS.

Backups run around that time and we need to close the site's MySQL database to get a good backup.

Ahhhhh! Well that explains it!
Sometimes the site is unreachable, like the other day.
This morning the site was reachable but you couldn't get to any links off of the MAIN and/or UserCP page.

You might want to let the general community know. Unless I'm the only one trying to get to AVS at that hour???

Check your USER CP and resave your settings, the server time is just fine.

It is now because you changed your time zone!!

Look at the bottom of your web page for the timezone.

This morning it was GMT -5. Now it's GMT -4.

I'm trying to help you guys and you say I'm doing something wrong? Wow!

Hummm....Sorry...not sure what to say...but we did NOT move the servers or change the time or anything. All the servers are synced and the time that I see on this side is correct for me. If the times where off, I would be flooded with e-mails. Seeing that the posts are all time synced, a move of one hour would greatly mess up the post times.

At the bottom of the page for me...it reads...

All times are GMT -4. The time now is 10:10 AM.

Which is correct as I am writing this at 10:10 AM.

Please check your user CP as mentioned as this is a cookie setting for this site on your browser. Not that YOU did anything wrong. But cookies can become corrupt.

Site is really slow right now. I get all the ad's at the top, but then nothing else for about 15 seconds or longer, with IE7. Slow with Firefox also.

Not know...only in the hours of 5-6 AM is it slow or unreachable.

Well, its back too normal now, but it wasn't when I posted. When I tried to enter the site, there was a long delay. Then no matter what I did, it took about 20 seconds for anything but the top ad's to load.

Everywhere else I went was fine. But I just tried it again, and now its back ok.

This and DBSTalk were both really slow for awhile, other sites OK. Guess it could have been a internet backbone routing/performance issue.

DBSTalk servers are not in the same area I am sorry to say. But a good thought.
