Toshiba 32LV67 built-in DVD

I just bought a 32LV67 and have a question regarding the built-in DVD player. How come I can't choose "Native" picture mode when the built-in DVD player is the chosen input? The Toshiba website specs state that the DVD player up-converts to 720p. The manaul states that "Native" mode is available for 720p/1080i/1080p input signals.

Is "Native" only available when the signal comes in via Component or HDMI? Will call Toshiba tech support tomorrow if I get a change.

Toshiba rep that I talked to on the phone wasn't any help -- he stated that because I couldn't choose Native screen mode (grayed out) it meant that it was in Native mode. I don't think so...viewing Fios HD, I can choose Native mode.

So any help with the built-in DVD player and not being able to choose Native mode due to it being grayed out?
