Carter, yeah, that is old FW and MB. Replacing them will probably help, and may even fix it permanently, but some people who have replaced them are still having problems. It looks like everyone will have to wait for the newest FW update that is supposed to be coming out soon.

Both the SciAtl 8300 and the Oppo are connected via HDMI. The SciAtl 8300 on HDMI2 and the Oppo on HDMI1.

almost 4 weeks of use and, so far, performance has been flawless.

The couple of Samsung employees I have talked to about this have been super helpful...and I haven't even received the set yet. Maybe I'll feel differently once I set it up and start experiencing the same issues.

Make sure you keep tracking your package and call Eagle as soon as it arrives near you. If you don't call and make an appointment, your package will sit there for a few extra days. Who knows, you may be able to receive it this week.

The number of people who actually come to this site is a very small percentage of the population, and if you look at the Poll thread for these sets, at least 20% report having HDMI issue. Now extrapolate that to the entire population and I think the numbers are much higher. I'm sure there are people sitting at home not realizing that the green/pink flashes and the "WEAK OR NO SIGNAL" message is a defect.

It is good that Samsung is working on a fix, it would be even better if they did release a statement on their website so that customers know that they are taking care of it. I think folks will still buy the sets knowing that it is an intermetent problem with a easy workaround - and the problem will be correctable.
