looking for advise

Hello, this is my first time here I was searching around for some info on home theaters. My father plans on building one from scratch onto his house and I wanted to know if anyone has some links to info as far as room dimensions and stuff like that. Also looking for some links to places that sell good equipment etc.

It looks like right now the room will be 24' wide, I saw on one website you should make the length of the room 1.54x the ceiling height and 1.24 x the ceiling for the width of the room for the best sound quality? Just wondering if anyone else has heard that since it would seem like even if you had a 10 foot ceiling that only makes the room a little over 12 feet wide?

Anyway, any insight, info, links etc would be appreciated since he has left me in charge of this since he doesnt even watch movies.

Thanks

Hmmm...that's strange, is he just doing it because everyone else is. Seems like a waste of money to build a home theater if you aren't even going to use it.

Maybe he could use it for watching sports.
