So after an episode of stupidity on my part, I ordered an Onkyo 505 receiver.
I thought it did HDMI audio, howevor I was mistaken and it's video pass-through.
As it's ordered online, I won't be returning it. Don't have the finances to upgrade to the 605 to utilize HDMI audio, nor the desire. I just thought I was getting the features at this price point, and as I said, I was mistaken.

I have a PS3 with optical out.
It can either do PCM 2 channel to the receiver, which can be matrixed to 5.1 (I hope anyway)
OR.
I can stick with DTS/DD.
From experience here, which one worked out the best? Obviously I'll be able to demo any see for myself, but I'm looking for some experience on this subject as to get the best sound from my 'lack of features'.
