I got a new G35 which came with a Sirius radio preinstalled. So I am taking advantage of the 3 month trial before I choose a subscription(most likely to be the 500 dollar lifetime deal since it will pay for itself after 4 years).
Other than the very average sound quality, the thing that pisses me off is the music is not that much varied over your typical FM radio playlist. I mean, Chris Daughtry, was once played on 3 different stations over a 20 minute span of station surfing. Chris freaking Daughtry. He is the kind of guy I do not expect to get heavy rotation on Satellite Radio. Leave him on the top 40 rock station, but to play him on a bunch of stations so often?
NOT ENOUGH GLAM ROCK. There is a rich catalog of glam rock from the late 60s and early 70s. Are you telling me these guys cannot find space among their MANY rock stations to at least devote 50% of the playlist to Glam rock? Stations 14-16 are pretty much interchangable. They play Journey on 4 or 5 of those. I like Journey, but they are already overplayed on FM Radio. Same with Boston or any similar group.
ROCKABILLY GOTH CULT ROCK: I do not know how to name this category. But I am referring to bands like the Cramps that get occasional play on one of the stations in the 22-29 range.(alt, punk, garage genre stations) . myabe they should have a FUN niche channel and put in this stuff with the glam stuff.
I like 22 which plays classic alt music from the 80s. But I wish they varied their playlists more. I like Cure , but come on, don't play Cure all the ****ing time.
There is an Elvis station. Good idea. But I do not care to hear that many Elvis songs on the 50s station when I can go to the Elvis station for his songs.
No 40s music? XM has it. I am not into 40s music, but it is nice to have that option.

I've had an internet only subscription since October so I can't really tell the difference. I'm in the market for a new AVR and I hope it will be Sirius ready. But all I really listen to is Howard Stern anyway so I'm more concerned with content over sound quality.
). XM particularly started with the idea of transmitting nearly every imaginable form of music, but bandwidth limits got in the way (too bad they wound up splitting the available band with Sirius).
