perhaps ask in the gaming section?

I don't game much anymore (yay for busy life schedules) but I do like Rock Band and I find it's a blast with the Outlaw. Really makes you feel like you're in a concert. Some of the EA Sports games over-accentuate the bass in their games so if you like that too.

I'm sure any FPS game will get it going and the sub will enhance any game you play. I know it's enhanced just about everything I throw at it.

I don't know what you are complaining about anyway I'm 46 years old. I can't even see any of those numbers when looking down from the top back behind my sub which is 6 inches from the wall. They are absolutely useless to me (LOL)

I think AVS needs a "Master List of Bass in Video Games" thread

Seriously guys, I'm getting flippin' upgrade fever and I BARELY finished upgrading. I've bought 2 entire sets of speakers and 3 subwoofers in the past 3 months

Have the Outlaw LFM-2, a rare find on Craigslist, that I'm extremely happy with, but I've got an upgrade bug I can't seem to shake off. I need some talking down I have absolutely no money from all the upgrading I've done (even close to neglecting my wife's birthday), but I'm close to buying a house JUST to be able to listen to my sub to its full potential

If you're looking for talking down here...keep looking.

I was thinking the same thing. I guess I need temporary talking down, and then once I have the money, I can be talked back up LOL

Just remember, gentlemen, that he who has the most toys...still dies. Enjoy what you have, buy when you can, and enjoy those closest to you. Keep in mind it's a hobby, not your life.

You are forgetting. A house is a home theater upgrade, and a purchase that will likely make the wife happy, too. Start researching optimum choices for a home theater room or other considerations for buying a house for home theater, and you'll quickly get into it

True, true. I'm lucky that my wife loves our home theater as well, so she wants to get at least an extra room or basement to have a dedicated home theater. Once we have that, it will be bliss! I'm so tired of having to have the volume kept down and the bass practically off.

Here's a talking down. What some folks spend on doing their never ending upgrading, could easily finance college costs. I've read comments that folks with lcds and plasma shouldn't even call what they have a "home theater" or subs of certain sizes are even worthy of consideration. If you want to upgrade because it fills a need YOU have and can afford it, fine. However upgrading to gain the approval of some of the folks on this forum will be hell for you. You have to learn to enjoy perusing this site, extracting what is valuable to you while not feeling pressured to match anything.

Uh...so...i found the numbers 0 and 1 on my gain dial. The flash from the camera used to look for them and the angle i was taking the pictures/videos at was obscuring them.
Does anyone here use these? http://www.outlawaudio.com/products/OAW3.html Everything that I have read about them says that they work surprisingly well, but that you may lose a little volume which is no big deal since you can just boost the gain on you receiver. They are a bit pricey, but it may be worth it instead of running an rca from front to back if you dont have the luxury to have your sub placed next to your fronts.

Good to know Test...

I didn't think that Outlaw changed the amp but you never know. BTW, the numbers are quite small...

I wasn't considering upgrading to impress anyone.... For all I care I have the best system out there. I just have wanted the LFM-1 EX and was joking around saying I needed to be talked down. I don't really need to be, as I can control my urge to get top notch stuff if I can't afford it. You all should be pressured to match mine (except for the sub of course as alot of you have the EX and + lol

I'm using one & it's working out real nicely for me. Audyssey set my sub's distance to 30ft which had me baffled until I realized that there'd be a delay sending the signal wirelessly... It sounds great to me, but I'm coming from a 8" Mirage sub that was way underpowered for the room, so I may not have the most discerning ear.

But, for me, it's great to be able to plug the sub in back by the couch without running another wire (my wife absolutely hates wires).... Knowing I have the freedom to move it to wherever I want to in the room is nice, too...... It was well worth it, and it's only $75 if you buy it at the same time as one of their subwoofers....

Bob the Tomato: Larry, how much stuff do you need to make you happy?

Larry the Cucumber: I don't know. How much stuff is there?

Do Outlaw LFM-1PLUS subwoofers rolloff at a certain freq? or does the plus stick to its rated output of 18hz? at what spl?

I really like the PLUS but i doing my homework first. Any help or opions on the PLUS are welcome!

I`m coming from an 8" Energy sub so I`m in the same boat.

That`s the thing I like about it, you can move it to wherever you need to without worrying about wires. I tried to bundle it with a B-stock LFM Plus today on the phone, but Outlaw said they don`t do bundles with B-stock... I told them I was ready to give them my business right now with a B-stock/wireless combo for $525 or even $550 and they would`nt go for it. I know I can buy a brand new one with the combo for $624, but the wife is already unhappy after spending a bunch on other upgrades in the last two months so $550 is a little easier for her to accept. I know they run sales with the combo for $550 so I guess I`ll wait it out and see who (HSU, Outlaw, Rythmik) has the best sale and maybe try the Audioengine wireless for $50 bucks less... It just seems odd that Outlaw would potentially lose a sale by not working with the customer??? I am self employed and I know that on a $500+ job I would`nt lose the business on a $75-$100 difference in this economy if I knew I was going to make a profit either way, especially for a small business.

In my room the Plus does indeed extend to 18Hz and then drops very quickly...
The SPL level on demanding LFE scenes was around 105dB in my testing but I never ran sweeps to determine max output.

Oh I'm not the fun police and maybe it's not always about impressing people, but these forums can work on your ego. I also dabble in digital photography and the forums are the same. People with lots of experience and big pockets offer a lot of knowledge and can be inspirations, but an individual has to be mindful of their own use, enthusiasm and budget. I was once close to purchasing an expensive item that was technically "all that". I would also get some bragging rights on the forum for owning such an item. But then I realized that for all the accolades given to the product, for me, I would not be taking advantage of all the great functions the amazing machine could offer so it would be foolish for me to spend on that item.

Macstatic, when you say you bought 3 subs in the last 3 months, did you keep them all or are you swapping? Anyway if you really are buying a house soon, you might as well delay the major ht decisions until after you buy the house and can optimize for that space.

All depends how good said business is. Take my business of radio. For all intents and purposes, let's say our commercials run $100 a spot and we're sold out every day. All of a sudden, customer X comes along and says "I'll run two commercials every hour from 6-10AM Monday through Friday but I want the price lowered to $75 a spot." That might seem tempting but you have to remember, the station is already sold out without this guy's offer. Supply and demand strikes again.

I bought 3 individual subs, and sold 2 of them because I only wanted the one.

What is the advantage to driver and ports placement on the bottom for the Outlaw PLUS?
Is Outlaw the only seller of such a design?

My sub to be will be placed in a corner and sort of surrounded by a couch on one side and a end table on the other so as to hide it a little bit. Whit a HSU 2.3 will the ports be a problem?

What material are the drivers in the Outlaw PLUS and HSU 2.3 made of?
