That encourages me to tweak some more. I tried the latest Batman (just the beginning few scenes) and enjoyed some low down sounds.

I never got past the beginning. It must be a kick-ass scene. I'll check it out once my new towers arrive, either tomorrow or Wednesday at the latest.

Yeah, practice makes perfect. Just make sure you don't overdrive the woofer. If it starts to sound like popcorn popping, turn it down. But between 9 & 10 o'clock should be good for the volume. Have you also checked w/ an spl meter?

You might see if leveling the Plus makes any difference. My old hardwood floors are uneven, so I had to adjust the individual spike level to get it very stable.

Yeah it's level. The rest of my house isn't, lol.

That's on my shopping list for today. I have a dvd incoming from Rives Audio that contains test tones, some of which are supposed to make up for a Radio Shack unit's imperfections. Audioholics did a write up on how to use it.

Im absoultely loving my LFM-1 Plus right now, and its still running off the Sony HTIB. My Onkyo 809 is arriving this Saturday, so now I am really excited to run Audessey and let this sub shine.

I was wondering if anyone is using any Bass shakers or other tactile transducers in conjucntion with an LFM-1 Plus or Ex? Since I live in an apartment, I am really exploring the idea of adding transducers in order to get a more complete home theater experience, especially at lower volumes.

I'm running two auras and if set correctly they add a nice touch to the theater

Two are running off a plate amp from an old Polk sub...the other four are running off a 22 year old Pioneer AVR.

It's new in box and I've never handled one of these. I'm reading the docs for it and the docs that came with the Rives CD. Rives CD explanation says that it will reveal dips and peaks in the room that they call modes - things that need to be extinguished by making changes in the room. Test tones go from 20hz to 20,000 hz. I'll go read the Audioholics info, as I don't have a concrete notion of what to do. Stay tuned.

In case I can't link to the Audioholics article, it's called: Subwoofer calibration using Rives Audio Test CD 2.

Part of my problem is that I'm the one who sanded refinished all the floors in my house. Looks pretty good, but there are a few areas--one of which is right where the sub likes--that are not quite as flat as they should be.

If anyone is looking to sell a LFM-1 PLUS vs LFM-1 EX please let me know. I am looking to add another sub to the system, but don't want to purchase a brand new one.

Anyone have an idea of when Outlaw usually has the B-Stock sale?

You just have to keep checking back. There was a LFM-EX last week but it went quick

Just to make sure - back of LFM-1 Plus is switch that can turn off the cross-over (from Active to Bypass). I had it on bypass when running the automatic YPAO. If that's all good, then it doesn't matter whether to turn the crossover knob all the way to the maximum, correct?

Bypass is disabling the active crossover, rendering the knob disabled as well. Only use the crossover if you are hooking up the sub directly to a power amplifier. Your AVR handles the crossover if you are using the subwoofer out jack.

So you are saying if the subwoofer is hooked up directly to the Receiver via the subwoofer out, then the switch should be set to Active?

I had it on active but it didn't sound very well. I hit Bypass and now the sub sounds much better. I have a Pioneer VSX-1021-K
