You guys are basically talking about an Outlaw version of the Hsu VTF15h, which would be cool. What I would also love to see is an sealed 18" with a high excursion driver, kind of like a Velodyne DD18, but under $2k. I don't need all that onboard digital EQing and a remote. Just give me good raw performance with a decent appearance and I'll take care of the rest.

Did you try turning off audy? I ran my single ex (when testing for bottoming issues) 3db hot from -7 and didn't have any issues. Try running audy again

I have a Yamaha avr and it uses ypao. I don't think you can turn that off. It only adjusts channel gain and not fq for the sub.

I took the plus deal rather than wait for the EX. Anybody have an M8? Maybe paired with a Plus? I'm running mine pretty hot, mostly music thus far and no over extension or chuffing. Just intense bass paired with my old Onkyo HTib woofer via Y splitter. Large room, but now I've got the bug. Anybody using a gramma pad on carpet with a slab beneath? If so, list benefits?

I don't have carpet but raising the sub up did give it a punch and less room vibrations

Quick question for you guys concerning the dialing in of the Outlaw subs. I just picked up a Denon 3312ci and had to redo everything from scratch. Here were my settings:

Switch: On
X-Over: Bypass
Crossover Frequency: 180Hz (MAX)
Port Mode: Max Output
Phase: 0
Volume: 1.5

Ran Audyssey and got my sub at -1.0db.

Manually adjusted the following settings:

Cranked up Subwoofer to 1.0db
Set ALL speakers to SMALL (80Hz)

All was done properly, correct?

How many of you guys are running Max Output vs Bass extension? I followed some setup advice on here and tried the Max Output after using Bass extension for a while.

1. If i ran the Auto Step with Audyssey with Max Output, do i have to re-run again if i switched to Bass extension?

2. How "hot" can you bump up the channel level for the sub and still be safe?

Yes it is setup coreectly

1. Not sure.
2. You can run it as hot as you want until you start hearing it bottom out.

I run both of mine in MO mode becasue my room is over 600 cubic feet and opens up to the dining room and kitchen. ME mode was not cutting it for me.

I think the standard "customer service package" is a deck of cards and a cd case. I got a pack of cards and a cd case from them over my amp mix up (got the right cabinet with the wrong amp). Then when I did get my amp it didn't have a serial number so I got another cd case and deck of cards from them....

Yes. Because that changes the frequency response, and Audyssey might run EQ filters differently to compensate.

Hi joeycannoli, its not mention in your post but with MO remove the port plug (both ports open). For question #1, I agree with cel4145 rerun auto setup.

Yes, the port plug was removed when trying out MO.

Which do you all prefer? MO or BE?

Yea try both to see what you like. I demo a lot of ulf scenes and find that me does better for me. Id recommend. Rerunning audy when you change modes

Unfortunately you have a square room which is the worst possible room for bass response cuz of standing waves and cancelizations. If you need more kick from your sub try placing it near your listening position or even behind you. But dual subs would probably be the best. And yes I know 15'X15' is small but sinces its square you can overcome some of the problems with duals.

In a smaller room i would definitely try bass extension mode. In larger rooms where the sub can't pressurize the space you won't notice much difference in the low end going max output but will get the added oomph to help fill the room. This of course is just my experience with my Plus in a large living/kitchen/dining space.

According to Outlaw, they recommend in Max Output mode that both ports remain unplugged. Is there risk of damaging my sub if I go and plug one of those ports?
