I'm thinking about selling my single REL Stadium III and picking two of the big Outlaws.. Or a guy on Audiogon has a single RSIII for sale.
One way costs me 1300 and the other works out costing me nothing.
My main speakers are Martin Logan CLS and my theater room is open on both sides.. So the single sub has issues loading my room.
Will I notice a huge loss of bass quality going from the RSIII to the big Outlaws?

You could always pick up one outlaw and compare it directly to your REL at home. If you like the Outlaw more, sell the REL and pick up a second Outlaw EX

I received the same email, they shipped right on the more recent projected date of the 29th.

Sadly, it is scheduled to be delivered on Thursday according to FedEx, and naturally enough I'll be unavailable to take it on Thursday through Sunday. I had to request that they hold it at a FedEx location and I'll pick it up next Monday.

I hope you have a truck because the boxes are huge. You will definitely will enjoy them when you get them calibrated.

You'll definitely need a truck. I had to unbox my Plus in the parking lot of my work where I had it shipped and I still could barely fit it in my car.

Hi all, watched WOTW last night and trust me on this, it is one of the intense bass movies since getting the Outlaw EX's and certainly the biggest subwoofer workout movie I've seen to date on my system. It has so much hard hitting bass, one right after another it just rocks the house . My house may even sustained some structural damage .

I guess I can give wotw a try

i will get mine tomorrow! i will let you know if any gifts are included.

On a side note i kind of got aggrivated with outlaw, but hopefully the product will make it all better. I responded to an email that stated if you have any changes to your order you need to do so by xx date. I kindly replied that in my time waiting, i have considered dual ex's and although i know the sale is over, if i could get the sale price i would purchase two. The case manager said she would have to talk to her manager. She responded saying that i could not get the sale price, but they were willing to cut $50 off the second sub and that shipping would be $90. That would make the price more than if i just ordered another in a seperate order or the same price as two full price subs with the standard free shipping. I kindly replied that i will stick to my original order. A simple no would have been fine, but to try and pull a slick one is aggrivating.

Received my EX after 2 month wait. However, it was definitely worth it because it is quite an upgrade from the Klipsch RW-12d and PSW505. The biggest difference is the cleanliness of its output and lower frequency than the aforementioned subs. It isn't a whole lot louder though neither can I feel the bass in my chest which could have made it one of the best purchases I've ever made. Any placement suggestions to make it sound and feel better. It is sitting in the corner of my living room very close to the walls. I am also kind of concerned about the cone getting damaged by hitting the carpet during high excursion. Any advice would be appreciated.
The cone will not hit the carpet. What I did that made it sound better was raise it up a little. I took some wood and cut it to the same dimensions as the sub including the rounded edges. Then I cut out the middle part of the wood so it looks just like a picture frame. I put the foam from the packaging under the wood and it raised the sub about 2" off the ground. Sounded a little bit better. I did the same for the second one and stacked them. when I stacked them it was a whole lot better. I guess its because the second subs driver and ports were not so close to the ground.

Mine are scheduled to arrive on Friday. Getting excited!

Need to pack up my Plus and list it for sale as i won't need that anymore!
I can't wait, mine is scheduled to arrive on Friday also!
oh the agony and anticipation of waiting for audio equipment to arrive in the mail. That is the worst part of ordering internet direct but worth it.

No truck, but the box fit into my wife's Subaru Outback wagon without a need to fold down the rear seats. With the rears folded down it might actually be possible to load two of these beasts.

And no question about it, the EX IS a beast of a subwoofer. I didn't have all that much of a chance to play with it last night, but I got it wired up (not through the Feedback Destroyer Pro yet) to test it out and I loved the clean bass it was providing during the short time I played with it. I do find myself wanting to turn the volume way up just to hear bass notes.

I'm not going to be home for the next couple of days, so I won't get to really exercise the thing until the weekend. Then I'm going to go on a movie watching jag, because I've been putting off watching a whole load of movies loaded with low frequency sounds. First though, I think I'll play "Word of Mouth" by Jaco Pastorius, which is a favorite album of mine.

Nice! I did the same thing about holding off on some movies until I got my subs. Enjoy them when you get back in town.

Got the EX up and running. The foam plug came apart, glue didn't hold the pieces together, have emailed Outlaw, awaiting reply.

The EX blows the Plus away in my 14.5X14.5X8 room with two openings. The Plus sounded awesome, but the EX adds that boot to your face.

I have only run them in ME mode. I played with the Plus for months in the different modes and preferred ME. I will play with the EX modes when the plug issue is resolved.

With the Plus, it seemed to sound different after a break-in period. I'm expecting the same of the EX.

Right now, I'm running them both up front between my display and front LR speakers. They complement each other well and seemlessly. I am going to try to move them to the sides of the room, but have to wait for my Tartan Cables to come in. After I try that, I am going to try the EX up front and the Plus behind (and closer to) the main listening position.

Eventually, I want another EX and will sell the Plus, probably to a buddy who recently bought a Hsu STF-2. We ran the STF-2 and my Plus together at my house, when his was freshly unboxed. The Plus fails to provide a lot of midrange the STF-2 played well. The Plus picked up where the STF-2 let off seemlessly and beautifully and vice versa. This was especially notable with music.

It would probably be smarter to sell the Plus and get a STF-2; we'll see.

I'm very dissappointed Outlaw discontinued their 10" line.

If you want mid range output, you should take a look at the Hsu MBM-12, it doesn't cost that much more and will have many time the mid-bass output of the STF2.

Yep. Pokekevin can comment on the MBM-12, and wiley52 posted about his experiences with one.

I am very happy with my new ex so far. I will be moving it into a much smaller dedicated room. That room is only around 800 cu/ft sealed, should be a beast in that room.
Came home yesterday and was pleasantly surprised that the EX's showed up a day earlier than expected. Will work on getting them integrated into the system this weekend. Looking forward to it and will report back!

My goodness...that's trying to fit the proverbial 5 lb. balogna in a 3 lb. box. I hope window replacement in your budget.

I might have to open one of the french doors to the foyer if it gets too bad!
Def won't push it with the kids in the room!
