Hi brian6751, have try both and prefer max ext mode. Plus would be too much a hassle (lazy ).

I just remember liking how dynamic max ouput sounded. tron has a lot of thumping techno bass that falls into that mid bass region where max output mode really shines imo.

The outlaw (in audioholics test) seem to be very similar in both modes in the mid bass area. Same in my room! Crappy room

mine sounded different because I used max ext for my audyssey setup. so when I switched it to max out I got a different response and sound.

+1 and also ensure that both ports are unplugged when in max output mode.

The change in response with the change in tuning was intentional.

Bit lost but are you saying you want that possible "bump" in the fr at 40 and above to be there instead of flattening it?

Now you got my curious. Anyone try setting one at max output and one at max ext. before? And how did it sound?

I preferred max ext. Ran audyssey each time I changed them from max output to max extension.

Same here but I mean with a dual sub setup. Have one playing at max out and one playing at max ext. at the same time.

I'm surprised you guys find this interesting. I have had a couple of subs with multiple tuning options and it was suggested to set the sub for the best extension for audyssey and then change the tuning whenever I wanted but leave audyssey alone.

I wouldn't recommend it. A 18hz eq might not work well for a 25hz eq. But that's me yay for options!

I was really impressed with Tron's LFE ... my EX's had to work overtime in this movie . Some of the scene I thought the tv was going to fall off the wall .

We watched "The Grey" last night, the wife said "the couch is shaking", then said "it is irritating". LOL! Love my EX. Hated the movie.

Howdy neighbor, maybe you're the one that almost cause my tv to fall off .

Getting ready to watch "This Means War".

Edit: a entertaining comedy movie but the LFE action was a little disappointing.

Maybe, because I'm actually near downtown Garland.

To the other person, if you want a good comedy with LFE, watch Hot Fuzz.
