That is flatly untrue. Power cables won't affect the qualitative performance of any of your electronic components.

Better to use that money to get a nice mic +True RTA to set up your subs. ORR you can stick with Audyssey or some other room correction

I ordered my 2nd LFM Plus.....So.....any advise on placement? No idea what to expect proformance wise with a second sub but will find out soon enough. 500 clams is a lot of scratch when the one sub kicked ass so on the fence..... but its ordered so to late regardless. all thoughts appreciated. dual subs sounds nice on paper but will i be disappointed.....questions so many questions.

I am not nearly as technically proficient as some of the other guys on this forum but am a dual Outlaw owner. I bought a Plus last January during their sale, and 3 months later bought an EX from somebody on this forum that I was luckily only an hour away from. You will not be disappointed in the slightest. Try and put one near field if at all possible. I was recently able to do that with mine and it brings a smile to my face every time I watch a movie or listen to music. Let us know what you think!

thanks bro...I ordered last night after about 10 beers otherwise I think I would of just sat on the fence....I should have it in a few weeks? When you say near field do you mean behind the couch or close to it? I cant put it on the side due to space issues but might be able to directly behind the couch or behind it against the wall. Of course I will have to recalibrate everything which in itself is a bit of a task.....Hope it blows me away and I have a feeling it might but i will deff let you guys know once its dialed in and ready to go...first impressions

Nothing like a few beers to make the decision for you...just happened with me last week, was on the fence about a Darbee Darblet, and went ahead and ordered one. Should be in today. By near field I just mean closer to the main listening position. I've got my Plus on the side of my couch because I can't put t behind, but I'm sure behind would be just fine, if not better. It's all dependent on room acoustics and size. How big is your room?

so about 12 feet wide at the top where the TV and L/R and current sub is..........roughly 16ish feet to the back (bottom) wall and 8 foot ceiling....the couch is about 11 feet back from the front wall......you can see the room opens up the left. Also are you running your subs out of phase with each other? Is that something I would need to do?

It's ok to mix the 2 models? Do you notice much difference between the two? I have a EX now but want MORE. Was just wondering if I'll notice the extra money spent on another one, or if I could just get a plus.

Id say get the ex. Not sure how deep with authority the plus can dig. Not sure on output but sure the plus is like the vtf 2.4 which could handicap your ex when running audyssey. Would you notice it? Probably it not, will it still be awesome having an ex and a plus? Yes lol

I have received LFM1-EX today, opened it up and the top side of the sub has this sticky/attached (not easy to remove) cardboard (yellowish) color paper on it as seen in the picture. I am wondering is it suppose to be that way or should I remove it....not sure... thanks

Remove it. It's there to keep the plexi glass looking good.

Not sure if it's like that for all of them but mine kept tearing. So I had quite a few little chunks of paper all over. I've heard that people yanked really hard and the plexi started to lift. Take your time and it should come off somewhat easy.

So I see a few of you have the Ex and the plus, is it worth the extra money to get the EX or should I jump on the plus sale?? Thanks

I have the Plus, but I believe only you can answer this question... How soon do you want a new sub? How much money are you willing to spend?

If you want the sub now and can only spend around $500 then go for the Plus. If you don't mind waiting to get the EX for $600 then wait. But if you buy the EX when its not on sale it will be $649 + like $81 shipping. Bottom line both subs are great and for $500 you probably can't find better than the Plus.

Fact of the matter at hand. The money spent IMO is the most crucial decision. Could the EX be better for another hundred bucks? Yeah, but could another sub (or any other piece of HT equipment for that matter) be worth it? And after $100, what about another $200 or $400 for that matter. Maybe, but if you're still relatively new and technically inefficient (of which I'm both), the extra money may not be worth it. I tried to get in on the sale price on the EX last year. Outlaw got back logged with so many orders that I decided to go with the Plus on sale price instead. My jaw dropped to the floor when I picked the package up and even had to unbox it to fit in my car. I got my second Outlaw, an EX, because I was lucky enough to come across someone on this forum selling one that was nearby my location. Offer I couldn't pass up. For whoever is asking, and from an amateur in HT, get the second sub if your budget allows. Long post for the simple explanation that more bass=more .

And for the record (thanks juice, if you're still reading), trust these guys opinions. Outlaws kick mad a$$.

If your experience with subs has been nothing more than the budget variety, the Plus is going to open your eyes. So will anything more expensive. So why not cut your eye teeth on the Plus and move up when you're ready to have your ears tackle something better?

I just got mine LFM-1-EX, it is huge.... what is your recommendation for movies one port open or both open? Thanks

I have two ex and I run them in ME mode, one port plugged, that is. I use for movies and music.

One plugged. Tried both open and that lasted about 3 minutes. Plugged ever since. Gets a little deeper I thought.

Depends on preference. Got a big room? Go mo if you don't want chuffing. I have four so I go me.

Anybody in the Houston area want to buy some plus's. I have two for sale and they both have more than 2 years of warranty left on them. PM me if you do. I will not ship these bad boys.
