I received my LFM 1 Plus yesterday.. Audyssey set the trim to -12dB and yes I have been running the SOB HOT.. like about 6... I didn't know... I'm totally new to HT's and subs.
To top it off I've been listening to Dubstep with it
If you aren't familiar with that and have a nice system (you must if you have an outlaw) check this out, this is crazy cool.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JRftXCiqfQ8&feature=share
So tonight I have to go home, turn the gain down to 2 and re-run Audyssey.. I just hope I didn't damage my brand new sub. I did knock it a couple times but immediately turned it down. Maybe they should put a warning about running it hot in the manual I dunno. It still sounds good so I guess it's ok, long term?
But what I don't get is why have a 350w amp in it if you can only turn the gain up to 2-3??? I like it LOUD and shaking ya know??
I love it though, It's the first system I've ever had with bass like this, I have it paired up with Infinity 163's for my center and front L/R and 153's for my surrounds. It sounds awesome! I've never experienced music like this before.
I've been in a lot of autos with "systems" but it's always a bunch of lung collapsing bass and nothing else, it's a whole different experince with huge bass plus great sounding mids and highs in surround!
