I've moved it around as much as the cable lets me. My room is only 15x16x9 and I only have a few placement choices.. I even moved it in to the corner to see if it would get louder.

It sounded awesome when I was running it hot. It wasn't bass all the time but when there was bass it was impressive, shake your seat bass, now it barely rattles anything unless I turn the Bass Level to at least 8+ dB which is way over the recommended +3 over...

I have a 15"x17' room 8' ceiling with a 6ft wide opening to a much larger space.
I found that the LFMplus dialed in 'flat' with MCACC (2.5 gain on sub, -2.0dB sub output from amp) is great, fits it smoothy with the L/R. If I want bass to shake the house (or at least the walls, window and doors) I just turn up the overall volume. I can't imagine needing to excessively (more than a few dB) boost the sub to get more bass - it would really mess up the balance of the music.

Well one issue you have is your room. Your room is basically square... AND square rooms are the worst for standing waves and sounds canceling each other out. Also rectangular rooms with 1 dimension double the other is very bad for standing waves.

Where is your seating located??? middle of room, up against back wall??? IF you can try having your seating position about 10 to 12 feet from your front wall.

Did you set all speakers xover to 80 hz? Did you bypass the xover on the sub amp or turn it to the highest freq? Do you have the phase set correctly?

What mode are you running in Max Ext 1 port open or Max Out 2 ports open?

Seating is against the 16' wall. I have everything set up like its supposed to be, all crossovers set to 80hz.. running at max output..

A guy at another forum said once Ausyssey sets the trim close to 0 +-3 then I can turn the gain up a little on the sub to get the volume I want. I did try that and it works great.. then again I want to to the correct thing to do so I don't ruin the sub.

I am POSSIBLY getting an LFM-1+ soon. There is one on Craigslist, but the seller says someone else is already interested, but isn't definite yet. I have the cash ready and if the neighbor still isn't definite today, it's MINE. I already have the LFM-2 and am excited at the prospect of keeping the LFM-2 on 2.1 duty at the computer while having the big boy (+) at the HT.

I have read around and seen some people suggest buying a new power cable for their Outlaw subs due to the original ones being lower quality or loose. Is this something any of you have done?

I haven't had any problem with my cable, but I think you can get inexpensive replacements from Monoprice.

I personally feel it's unnecessary. The one that comes with the sub is adequate. It will not make the sub dig any deeper.

+1 I never had a problem with the cord on my Plus.

the cord on my ex is pretty loose. i just check on it every so often. i should probably replace it, because i don't want it to fall out one day in the middle of a movie :/

I just stuck electrical tape around the edges and now it never comes out

I didn't end up getting the plus. But the guy that did get it still has to make sure his wife will let him keep it and if not he'll sell it to me so he can get his money back. So there is still a little hope

$200!!! Holy cow that is a steal. I'm not using mine, but at that price I would buy another just cuz I'm an addict lol. I jumped on the 5.0 RC micros for $60 and they are still in the box, some deals are just too good to pass up, I'll find a use for them sooner or later though.

I'd jump on one for $200 too!! I got mine dialed in pretty darn good.. It rattles the windows and walls lol.

I am thinking of adding another just ffs.. Not sure if it would benefit my 15x16 room or not, it's pretty bassey in there as it is. I've been listening to a lot of Bassnectar and Skrillex.. The drops shake the floors violently lol.

Have you tried Bass I Love You? I find the song not my taste, but lots of low end bass frequencies, lower than the Outlaw can go.

I did, but I dislike that song lol. Lots of cooler stuff like Bassnectar.. My kid has me hooked on that stuff. I heard it before through her crappy stereo but never with bass until I hooked my stuff up, it's pretty cool stuff with the bass mixed in. Bass I Love You is kind of lame comparatively.

Yeah. I actually hate to listen to Bass I Love You. Just like the deep bass for testing out a sub, and I use it to break-in my subs.

For Bassnectar, I've always like Dubuasca, which is more trip-hop. Sort of different from what you hear in their later music.

Where in Michigan are you?

I live near Sturgis but I vacation up in Newago quite often.

I had to turn the sub gain down to a little over 1 for Audyssey to set it to -1dB. The bass at that level sucked big time so from there I turned the gain on the sub up to my preference level.

Thanks, how many db "hot" did you have to adjust in the receiver to fit your taste?

I would recommend only adjusting the trim in the receiver to your liking. Changing the gain ON THE SUB after running audyssey can potentially cause issues such as bottoming out

I've been told to do it both ways, here and at HTF.. who's right? What's the point in getting audyssey to get it to 0dB +-3 if I'm just going to change it?

When I tried using the receiver to adjust it I had to turn it up to 8dB to get decent bass.

What's the difference?

Is your listening position where the mic was placed? Have you tried different mic and/or listener and/or sub positions. Most intentionally bass heavy music is mixed with high bass levels and massive boosts should not be needed in a well set up place. A few dB here or there makes sense for personal preference but boosts of 8-10dB seems like something is off.

The first run was in the main listening position, but then the mic was placed in 7 other positions around the listening area... It's a long drawn out process lol.
