I think so...I was never able to clip an Outlaw plate amp and I tried!
I heard the same sound on my four 18" subs...it is a good demo scene and in my case, I was running a little too hot on one pair of my subs and as soon as I backed off a little on the amp driving the two subs, the scene played perfectly. I listen very close to reference level and I have to keep reminding myself not to run the subs hot...
Thanks Larry. Having read about your setup on here I don't feel as bad since it happened to you too. It's a little alarming to hear that sound from what seems like a decent sub. I'm not running my sub too hot. I checked the channel level setting on my avr and the MCACC actually set the sub to +2.5.
It's not a good demo scene for my setup. Luckily, I watched this one alone. I would've been quite embarrassed for anyone to hear the sound it made.

The movie is not bad overall, but if you expect great acting performances you'll be disappointed. It obviously has a lot of bass in the tornado scene so be ready for it.
